Who can Play? You must be a member of the Happy Trails Pickleball Club to play in any league. You may join a league by contacting one of the league captains or using the sign-up sheet when posted. Once you are a member of a league, please, contact the captain if you cannot play; absence or leaving for the season. To join the Pickleball Club, contact the treasurer or acting treasurer. Results? Current standings and the scores are usually posted at the Town Center Courts the morning after the scheduled play day. The are also available on the club website (www.htpickleball.org).

When do I show up? It is recommended that you show up fifteen (15) minutes prior to your scheduled match. Matches typically take about forty-five (45) minutes to play leaving about fifteen (15) minutes for warm-up. If a foursome is present, they may warm-up and start early. It is your responsibility to be present at the court at the designated time ready for play or made other arrangements with the other members of you foursome and notified the league captain. A match should not start until after the scheduled time if all four scheduled players or substitutes are not present.

What if I can’t play? If it’s prior to the schedule being posted, please contact the league captain. If you know this week that you cannot play next week, you may also write if in the comments section on the match score sheet. Please write it down or send an email to the league captain. Once the schedule is posted, it is your responsibility to arrange a sub, either a player with a bye or another member of the same league. A player may play in more than one match to sub for someone at a different time, but only the their originally scheduled match counts. Players that fail to show up without notice may be suspended for four (4) weeks.

What does it mean when I’m listed as a “Bye”? Each week we may have an “odd” number of players available for play (not enough for all groups of four). At this point, se select players from the list for “byes”. The selection is based on when players started playing in the league and is composed of players that have not previously had a “bye”. Players with more time in the league will be chosen first for byes. Once you have been assigned a “bye”, you will no longer be considered until everyone else has been listed as a bye. Once the schedule is posted and a player cannot play, they may contact you to play in their place. If you play as a substitute, the bye is still counted. You may also show during the league play and fill in if someone is a no-show.
